Leasing Executive (12-month Contract)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Retail Leasing Executive to join a major retail asset in Canberra on a 12-month contract.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to do more than simply manage a leasing schedule, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to influence the leasing strategy, bring new ideas to the table and make a genuine commercial impact.

The Opportunity
Working closely with the broader property team, you will take ownership of leasing across the asset and play an important role in strengthening its tenant mix and market position.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and executing leasing strategies across the asset.
• Managing the leasing pipeline from prospecting through to negotiation and execution.
• Identifying and pursuing new retailer opportunities.
• Building strong relationships with existing and prospective retailers, agents and industry contacts.
• Negotiating commercial terms and driving deals through to completion.
• Reviewing upcoming vacancies and identifying opportunities to improve the tenancy mix.
• Working closely with Asset Management and Centre Management to align leasing decisions with the broader asset strategy.
• Monitoring market activity, competitor centres and emerging retail trends.
• Providing regular leasing updates, market insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

About You
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring strong retail leasing experience to the role. You will have:

• 4–6+ years’ experience in retail leasing.
• A strong understanding of the Canberra retail market and established industry relationships.
• A proven track record of negotiating and completing retail leasing transactions.
• Strong retailer, agent and stakeholder networks.
• Commercial confidence and the ability to negotiate effectively.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• The resilience to work through a challenging leasing environment.
• Strong communication, relationship management and influencing skills.
• The ability to work autonomously and take genuine ownership of the leasing strategy.
