The Opportunity

Our client is a nationwide leading commercial law firm with a strong foundation in Australia.

This role is a great opportunity for a motivated and experienced payroll professional who is interested in growing their career in a leading law firm. The role is based in a stunning central CBD office and is three days per week.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing timely, accurate end to end monthly payroll for the partnership and services company
  • Month end report production and other ad hoc reporting as required
  • Assisting with payroll-related financial reporting
  • Managing, calculating and processing payments of PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and Workcover contributions
  • Processing new starters, terminations, and changes in employment terms from a payroll perspective, including salary adjustments, parental leave, bonuses, termination calculations and other payroll adjustments as required
  • Administration and maintenance of the Payroll system (Definitiv), ensuring data is accurate and up to date at all times
  • Participating in Finance, Technology and other special projects across the firm as required
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement for the payroll and broader finance function


The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

  • 3+ years of payroll experience 
  • Processing pay runs larger than 200+ staff
  • Experience in a professional services is highly advantageous. 
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels in the business
