This well-established retail organisation has built a strong reputation across its market and continues to grow both locally and internationally. It's a business that invests in its people, offers real career progression, and takes the wellbeing of its team seriously.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Officer to join a busy dynamic payroll team, supporting the business through a period of growth and payroll systems change. Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working alongside a Senior Payroll Officer, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate, on-time payroll across multiple regions while helping prepare the business for its move to a new payroll platform. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with end-to-end payroll processing across several regions and pay cycles
  • Providing full processing cover during planned team leave, maintaining accuracy and continuity of every pay run
  • Cleansing and validating payroll and employee data ahead of a systems transition
  • Supporting the standardisation of payroll data in preparation for a new payroll and HRIS platform
  • Ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation, modern awards, superannuation and PAYG obligations, and supporting international statutory requirements
  • Acting as a first point of contact for employee pay queries and resolving them professionally
  • Assisting with payroll reconciliations, journals and reporting for Finance across month-end, year-end and audit
  • Supporting payroll setup and onboarding as the retail network continues to expand

To be considered for this role, you will have 3–4 years of end-to-end Australian payroll experience, ideally including New Zealand, with sound working knowledge of Fair Work, modern awards, superannuation and PAYG. You'll be confident operating cloud-based payroll systems and will bring solid reconciliation, numeracy and advanced Excel skills. You're someone who works comfortably to tight pay cut-offs across multiple time zones, handles confidential data with absolute discretion, and takes genuine ownership of your work.
