An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced DEI and Engagement Specialist to support the delivery of meaningful initiatives across a large and complex organisation. 

Working within the People and Culture function, the position will focus heavily on gender equity, gender pay-gap analysis, workforce metrics and DEI reporting.

This role combines DEI program delivery, employee engagement, data analysis, reporting and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of organisation-wide DEI and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide advice and guidance to employee resource groups and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate engagement surveys and other recurring employee experience activities.
  • Manage DEI and engagement platforms, including user access, permissions and data integrity.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret workforce data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Translate complex data into practical insights that support leadership decision-making.
  • Prepare accurate internal and external reports in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Coordinate DEI programs, events and partnerships with external providers.
  • Monitor program outcomes against agreed objectives, timelines, budgets and success measures.
  • Develop and deliver tailored education and awareness sessions for leaders and employees.
  • Provide specialist DEI input into recruitment campaigns and programs supporting underrepresented jobseekers.
  • Maintain policies, procedures and documentation in accordance with governance and compliance requirements.
  • Build collaborative relationships across People and Culture teams, employee networks and external advocacy groups.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, employee experience and ways of working.

About you

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in a similar DEI, employee engagement or People and Culture role.
  • Requires a strong DEI background, ideally with specific experience in gender equity, workplace initiatives, reporting and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of current diversity, equity and inclusion practices, trends and emerging issues.
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Experience supporting programs within a large, complex or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to transform workforce data into clear and meaningful recommendations.
  • Excellent written communication, reporting and presentation capabilities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence working with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating initiatives, programs or events from planning through to evaluation.
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • A collaborative, proactive and improvement-focused approach.

Experience working within a unionised workforce, implementing a DEI strategy or using formal project management methodologies will be highly regarded.
