Our client is a highly regarded commercial builder with a proven track record delivering complex, large-scale projects across Australia. Due to continued project growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contract Manager to join the team and play a key role in the successful delivery of a landmark commercial high-rise development.
Your new role
Reporting to senior project leadership, you will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of a major project from procurement through to completion.You will work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders to ensure commercial outcomes are achieved while effectively managing risk and contractual obligations.Key responsibilities include:
- Management of subcontractor procurement, negotiations and contract administration
- Commercial management across the full project lifecycle
- Cost forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting
- Assessment and management of contract risks and opportunities
- Progress claims, variations and payment certifications
- Stakeholder management across clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Supporting project delivery teams with commercial strategy and contractual matters
- Ensuring compliance with contractual, legal and project requirements
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Minimum 10 years' experience within the commercial construction industry
- Proven experience on high-rise commercial projects
- Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management
- Experience managing significant subcontractor packages
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong financial acumen and cost-control capabilities
- Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline
