An exciting opportunity exists for a Systems Engineer / Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to join a leading Defence organisation supporting the delivery of a major complex capability program.Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a key role across the systems engineering lifecycle, helping define, verify and validate critical system requirements while ensuring successful integration and delivery outcomes.
This role would suit engineers with experience in Defence, aerospace, rail, maritime, automotive or other highly regulated environments who enjoy working at the intersection of requirements, testing, integration and system performance.
Key Responsibilities

Support the development, management and traceability of system requirements. Conduct systems engineering activities across the full engineering lifecycle. Develop Verification & Validation strategies, plans and procedures. Define and execute verification activities including analysis, inspection, demonstration and test. Support system integration, test readiness reviews and acceptance activities. Work closely with software, hardware, mechanical and project engineering teams to ensure requirements are met. Identify, investigate and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle. Contribute to requirements management, risk assessments and engineering documentation. Support customer reviews, technical presentations and engineering governance activities.

What you'll need to succeed

Degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline. Experience working within Defence or other complex engineering environments. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and processes. Experience developing or managing requirements using tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next, Jama or similar. Experience supporting Verification & Validation, integration or testing activities. Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into testable requirements. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills. Australian Citizenship

Desirable

• Defence industry experience.
• Experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
• Exposure to Systems Engineering standards and V-Model methodologies.
• Experience preparing test plans, verification procedures and validation reports.
• Knowledge of system integration and acceptance testing.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
