Team Leader - Insurance Home Assessor

SMAART is partnering with one of Australia's leading insurance organisations to recruit an experienced Desktop Home Assessing Team Leader to join their Sunshine operation.

About the role: Reporting to the Building and Assessing Manager, you'll lead a team of 8 Desktop Home Assessors responsible for virtual property assessments, repair scopes, cost validation and claims management.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of 8 Desktop Home Assessors.
- Provide technical guidance across building assessments, estimating, scopes of work and cost validation.
- Monitor team performance, productivity and quality standards.
- Manage complex claims, escalations and technical challenges.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and cost outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support team development through regular feedback, training and performance management.

- $100,000–$130,000 package including superannuation.
- Permanent, full-time in office position, Monday to Friday.

About you: We're looking for a confident, approachable leader who combines strong people management skills with practical building or home assessing knowledge.
- Proven TL experience leading, coaching and managing a team.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in home assessing, building or construction.
- Strong understanding of building repairs, scopes of work and estimating.
- Previous insurance or property claims experience will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve complex issues.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a genuine passion for developing people.
