About the Role

Ibarber Classic is seeking skilled and enthusiastic Barbers to join our team in Upper Mount Gravatt, Brisbane. We are looking for experienced professionals who take pride in their craft and are passionate about delivering high-quality barbering and grooming services in a welcoming and professional environment.

The successful candidates will be confident in both modern and classic barbering techniques, have strong customer service skills, and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a professional team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Barber, your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcome clients and consult with them to understand their preferred hairstyles, haircuts, and grooming requirements.
  • Cut and trim clients’ hair according to their instructions and desired style.
  • Style clients’ hair using appropriate products, including pomades, gels, and other styling products.
  • Shave, trim, and shape clients’ beards and moustaches to achieve the desired style and finish.
  • Wash and condition clients’ hair before or after hair services as required.
  • Provide appropriate hair treatments based on clients’ hair and grooming needs.
  • Clean, sanitise, and maintain combs, scissors, razors, and other barbering tools after each use in accordance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to apprentices and trainees in barbering techniques, workplace practices, and service standards.
  • Provide face, scalp, and neck massages as part of the grooming service.
  • Provide professional hairstyle suggestions and recommendations to clients based on their preferences, hair type, and overall appearance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a minimum of 1-2 years' relevant barbering experience
  • Demonstrate strong skills in both modern and traditional barbering techniques
  • Be confident performing haircuts, fades, tapers, beard trimming and shaping, styling and hot towel shaves
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to understand and respond to clients' individual grooming requirements
  • Take pride in your work and maintain a high standard of quality, presentation, cleanliness and hygiene
  • Be reliable, trustworthy, punctual and committed to maintaining a strong work ethic
  • Have a professional and positive attitude
  • Be able to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative, high-energy team environment
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for barbering and helping clients look and feel their best
  • Be willing to supervise and provide guidance to apprentices and trainees where required
