About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to implement and manage the workplace health and safety (WHS) and compliance functions.
This is a newly created role where you will take ownership of safety systems, processes and procedures.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct on-site safety audits of each technician around 10 a month across residential, commercial, insurance and solar sites
- Verify safety documentation in the office, including SWMS, Take 5s, test results and job records
- Continue improving and evolving safety processes and procedures.
- Set up and manage the company’s audit schedule, and coordinate any audits from clients or builders.
- Track technician licences, tickets and apprentice supervision to keep the team compliant
- Deliver safety inductions for new starters, apprentices and subcontractors.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Previous experience in an WHS role, preferably in construction or trades
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Proven experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations
- Experience developing and implementing policies, processes and procedures
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with staff at all levels
- Proactive, adaptable and organised approach within a growing business
