We're looking for an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist to cover a 6-week locum role at our Hervey Bay practice, starting 14 September – 22 October 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an EP who wants meaningful clinical work in a well-established, client-focused private practice.

    About Physical Prosperity

Physical Prosperity is a Hervey Bay-based allied health practice built on evidence-based exercise intervention and genuine client centred care. We serve a diverse caseload across NDIS, DVA, and My Aged Care, working collaboratively with GPs, specialists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver real, measurable outcomes. Our patients aren't just numbers, we take their health seriously and we expect our team to as well.

    The Role

This is a short-term locum position, 4 days per week for 6 weeks covering an established caseload. You'll step in with minimal onboarding friction and hit the ground running. Day-to-day you'll be:

    • Assessing clients and delivering individualised exercise prescriptions across chronic disease, musculoskeletal, and cardiac populations
    • Monitoring and adjusting rehabilitation programs with ongoing progress tracking
    • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation compliant with NDIS, DVA, and My Aged Care requirements
    • Communicating with referring healthcare providers and upholding reporting obligations across all funding bodies
    • Educating clients on exercise technique, health behaviour change and risk reduction

    Who We're Looking For

    • Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation — non-negotiable
    • AHPRA registration current and in good standing
    • Demonstrated experience working with NDIS, DVA, and/or My Aged Care clients — familiarity with documentation, billing, and compliance requirements for these funding streams is essential
    • Competent across chronic disease, musculoskeletal, and cardiac rehabilitation
    • Excellent communicator who can work independently, manage a caseload confidently, and maintain the standard of care our clients expect
    • Police check and relevant insurances in place (or ability to obtain before start date)

    Why Apply

    • Established practice with existing referral relationships and a loyal client base
    • Straightforward, focused caseload, no administrative burden beyond your clinical documentation
    • Flexible start time available for the right candidate
    • Ideal for an EP between roles or seeking locum work

    Start Date: 14 September – 22 October 2026
    Duration: 6 weeks
    Days: 4 days per week
    Location: Hervey Bay, QLD (on-site)
