About the Role
A1 Pita Bakery is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure the efficient production of high-quality pita bread and bakery products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production schedules, supervising staff, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and driving operational efficiency to meet business and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily manufacturing operations to ensure the efficient production of pita bread and bakery products.
- Plan, schedule and coordinate production activities to meet customer orders, delivery deadlines and production targets.
- Supervise, lead and motivate production staff to maintain productivity, quality and workplace efficiency.
- Monitor production processes, equipment performance and workflow to minimise downtime, waste and production costs.
- Ensure all products meet established quality standards, product specifications and consistency requirements.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety standards, hygiene requirements, HACCP principles and relevant workplace health and safety regulations.
- Manage raw material usage, stock levels and inventory to ensure uninterrupted production and minimise wastage.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in production methods, efficiency, quality and cost control.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehousing, maintenance and dispatch teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Monitor production performance against targets and prepare reports on output, quality, labour utilisation and operational issues.
- Ensure machinery and production equipment are properly maintained, and coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance as required.
- Train staff on production procedures, food safety practices, equipment operation and workplace policies.
- Investigate production issues, customer complaints and quality deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure production records, cleaning schedules, quality checks and other required documentation are completed accurately.
- Support management in achieving business objectives, maintaining customer satisfaction and improving overall manufacturing performance.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in production management, manufacturing operations or a similar supervisory role, preferably within the food manufacturing or bakery industry.
- A relevant qualification in Manufacturing, Production Management, Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in production planning, staff supervision, quality control, inventory management and process improvement.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene procedures, workplace health and safety, and quality assurance systems.
- Strong leadership, organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage production targets, minimise waste, control operational costs and ensure consistent product quality.
Education and Qualifications
Applicants should hold a relevant diploma, advanced diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a field related to manufacturing, production management, food processing or engineering. Candidates with substantial relevant industry experience and demonstrated management capability may also be considered, where appropriate.
