About the Role
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will operate at the intersection of technical delivery and commercial strategy.
Working closely with senior leaders, project teams and clients, you will prepare competitive tenders, engage directly with key stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business.
This role will suit a commercially minded professional who enjoys being out in the market, developing relationships and influencing business outcomes while maintaining strong technical estimating capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions across HV, electrical and industrial infrastructure projects.
- Lead the full tender lifecycle, including take-offs, cost build-ups, subcontractor engagement, risk reviews and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications and scope documentation to determine project risks, opportunities and pricing strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and industry stakeholders.
- Regularly meet with clients and key stakeholders to identify upcoming opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across utilities, mining, renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Attend client meetings, networking events, pre-tender briefings and industry functions.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers and operational teams throughout tender, award and project handover phases.
- Contribute to market intelligence, pipeline development and business growth strategies.
- Support negotiations and assist in securing negotiated and repeat business opportunities.
About You
- 5+ years' experience in Electrical Estimating within HV, utilities, industrial, mining, renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrated experience preparing estimates and tender submissions for electrical construction projects.
- Previous client-facing, business development or account management experience.
- Existing industry relationships and networks within the WA market will be highly regarded.
- Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Experience using estimating software such as WINEST (highly regarded).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
