Job description: Role: Centre Cook

Location: Springvale South, VIC 3172

Centre: Goodstart Springvale South

Employment Type: Part-time (25 hours a week), Permanent

Pay: $31.36 - $35.44 p/h (depending on experience) + Super

As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.

In this role, you will:

* Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
* Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
* Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
Work a part time roster of 25 hours per week

As our Centre Cook, you'll play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of up to 83 children daily by preparing nutritious meals and snacks that fuel their learning, growth and development.

What you’ll do

* Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks in line with Goodstart's menus and nutritional guidelines.
* Cater for a variety of dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences.
* Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
* Manage food orders, stock control and kitchen budgets.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and centre policies.
* Build positive relationships with children, families and team members.

You’ll need:

* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting
* Current VIC Working with Children Check
