Diner Cook (Skating Rink)

Skate Paradise is one of Queensland’s leading skating venues based in Hillcrest. We specialise in skating sessions, club sports, skate birthday parties and other themed events. We are looking for a cook to join our fun and energetic team in our venue with a “60’s Style Diner”. Cooking and serving a variety of our tasty food and beverages to our skaters.
Our cook will play a critical role in keeping our venue customers serviced in an efficient manner during our session and other opening times to suit your availability.
In this role you will perform the tasks below but not limited to:
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Preparation, heating and cooking of all menu foods
- Ensuring an updated compliant food safety management system is operational
- Provide good knowledge of food hygiene and safety practice for others to follow
- Hot & cold beverage preparation (coffee, tea, slushees, milkshakes)
- Food handling / defrosting
- Kitchen setup / set down
- Presentation of food and beverages
- Cleaning and sanitisation of all food areas
- Keeping all food and serving areas clean and tidy at all times
- Organising products into their designated areas
- Stock labelling, rotation / Re-stock shelves
- Assisting in stock takes as directed
- Serving customers in busy times
- Cash handling and balancing at end of shift in busy times
- Follow Skate Paradise procedures at all times
Education and Experience
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate will be highly desired Required
- Food Safety Handling certificate is required and may be completed prior to your first shift via a link we provide.
- Experience working in hospitality, preferably as a cook, kitchen hand or all-rounder
- Ability to create exceptional food and have good attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude in a fast paced and high demanding environment
- Strong knowledge and experience in Food and Work Health Safety

This role has rostered shifts between Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Public and school holiday work is also available.
