Job description

The Role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Manufacturing Plant / Forklift Operator to join a busy fertiliser manufacturing operation in Dalby, QLD. Working within the agricultural manufacturing and fertiliser industry, you will support the safe and efficient operation of processing, granulation and packaging facilities. This is a hands-on role in a hot and dusty industrial environment, requiring flexibility, attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and product quality. You may also be required to operate a forklift to move pallets and one-tonne bags of fertiliser as part of daily production activities.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the day-to-day operation of the fertiliser manufacturing plant by operating equipment, monitoring production quality and assisting with material movement. The role requires accurate process control, safe equipment operation and flexibility to move between tasks as production needs change.

• Operate fertiliser processing and packaging facilities to meet production requirements
• Support the efficient operation of granulation and manufacturing processes
• Monitor feed accuracy, batching accuracy and product consistency
• Operate and monitor plant and equipment in line with procedures and safety requirements
• Operate a forklift to move pallets and one-tonne bags of fertiliser as required
• Identify, report and respond to safety hazards, quality issues and operational variances
• Maintain accurate production and quality records
• Follow quality assurance and manufacturing procedures
• Assist with packaging and general manufacturing activities as required
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production operations
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
• Complete other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors

Benefits

• $34.96 per hour plus applicable penalty rates

• Approximately 40 hours per week

Your Skills & Experience

• Current Australian forklift licence is essential
• Previous forklift operating experience
• Comfortable working in hot and dusty manufacturing environments
• Flexible and willing to move between production, packaging and forklift duties as required
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Able to work safely around manufacturing plant and equipment
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable completing manual and hands-on production duties
• Previous manufacturing, fertiliser, agricultural production or processing experience is advantageous but not essential
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
