We're looking for an experienced Regional Workshop Manager to lead our workshop operations across Pakenham and Monbulk, while developing and inspiring the next generation of skilled technicians and apprentices.

About the Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the operational performance, safety, efficiency, and people leadership of our workshop teams across multiple sites.

You will lead a large team of skilled tradespeople and apprentices, ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop workshop teams across multiple locations.
  • Drive employee engagement, performance management, recruitment, and workforce planning.
  • Mentor and support apprentices, ensuring consistent learning and development opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Workshop Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day workshop and fleet support operations across Pakenham and Monbulk.
  • Manage labour, resources, and workshop productivity to achieve operational targets.
  • Monitor repair times, work allocation, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure vehicle availability aligns with operational requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Depot Managers to coordinate maintenance activities and fleet availability.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers, educational institutions, and union representatives.
  • Oversee inventory and parts management to support maintenance requirements.

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture across all workshop operations.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards and industry best practice.
  • Maintain a safe environment for employees, contractors, suppliers, and visitors.

About You

You are a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a genuine passion for developing people.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A Mechanical or Trade Qualification.
  • Proven experience leading workshop operations within a multi-site environment.
  • Strong people management and leadership capability.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy vehicle maintenance and workshop best practices.
  • Demonstrated success coaching, mentoring, and developing tradespeople and apprentices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • A current Australian Driver Licence.
