HV Commissioning Electrician
- Seeking experienced HV Commissioning Electricians for a major Decarbonisation Infrastructure Project.
- Responsibilities include commissioning, testing, and energisation of HV electrical systems.
- Must have WA A-Grade Electrical Licence and HV Switching Operator Certification.
DRD Group is currently seeking experienced HV Commissioning Electricians to join our client on a major Decarbonisation Infrastructure Project in Western Australia.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Electricians with a strong background in HV commissioning, testing, energisation and fault finding to work on a significant infrastructure project.
The Opportunity
- Pay Rate:$105.00 per hour
- Roster: 2:1 FIFO
- Hours: 12 hr - Dayshift only
- Location: Various WA project sites
- Project: Decarbonisation Infrastructure
- Duration: 12+ Months
Essential Requirements
- WA A-Grade Electrical Licence
- HV Switching Operator Certification
- Demonstrated HV installation and commissioning experience
- Strong knowledge of protection and control systems
- CPR/LVR
- White Card
- Valid WA Driver's Licence
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and within a commissioning team
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning, functional testing and energisation of HV electrical systems
- Testing HV switchgear, transformers, protection relays and control systems
- Preparing and executing HV switching programs
- Conducting insulation resistance, continuity, polarity and secondary injection testing
- LV testing, commissioning and fault finding
- Commissioning control systems and performing instrument calibration
- Interpreting electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
- Completing commissioning documentation and test records
- Identifying and resolving electrical faults
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian electrical and safety standards
Highly Regarded
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mining, renewable energy or HV infrastructure
- Experience with AC and DC charging infrastructure
- Experience preparing and executing HV switching programs
- Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems (SEL, Schneider, Siemens)
- Experience with commissioning documentation and pre-commissioning processes
- Understanding of isolation and permitting systems
- Knowledge of relevant WA mining safety regulations and HV legislation
