Your new role
As a Principal PrimaryDesign Engineer, you will take a technical leadership role in the design anddelivery of high-voltage primary systems across major infrastructure projects.

You will beresponsible for developing high-quality, compliant designs, resolving complexengineering challenges, and ensuring integration across multidisciplinaryteams. While substation projects will form a key part of your remit, you willalso be exposed to broader transmission and grid infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the design anddevelopment of HV primary systems (typically 132kV330kV+)
• Validating designs andresolving technical challenges to meet performance, reliability, and regulatoryrequirements
• Overseeing detaileddesign deliverables including layouts, specifications, and technicaldocumentation
• Applying reliability,availability, and maintainability (RAM) principles to improve systemperformance
• Providing technicalleadership and mentoring to engineering teams
• Coordinating withcivil, structural, and secondary disciplines to deliver integrated designoutcomes
• Supporting systemintegration, requirements management, and design verification processes
• Leading the resolutionof complex technical issues, balancing cost, time, and quality constraints
• Driving designoptimisation, constructibility, and innovative engineering solutions

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in ElectricalEngineering
• Extensive experiencein HV primary design (220kV+ preferred)
• Strong substation andtransmission project exposure
• Proven experienceleading design delivery on large-scale projects
• Solid understanding ofAustralian standards and grid compliance
• Experience in EPC,utilities, or consultancies highly regarded
• Chartered (or workingtowards) highly regarded
