About the role

Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager – Patient Flow & Workforce to join our executive team on a full time basis.

The Nurse Manager – Patient Flow & Workforce provides contemporary strategic, operational and professional nursing leadership and management for Patient Flow at Brisbane Private Hospital. The role supports and line manages the After-hours Hospital Nurse Coordinators and the casual pool staff. 

In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the role provides the coordination and responsibility for service delivery, human and material management, expertise in health care team communication and highly developed data analysis and fiscal management to deliver safe, quality, effective and efficient care provision.

Set at the top of Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, above the Roma Street Parklands in the heart of the CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is an acute and rehabilitation hospital with 181 beds, 17 operating theatres and dedicated surgical, ICU and rehabilitation wards. Brisbane Private Hospital specialises in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, ENT, Pain and Rehabilitation with additional specialties including Plastics, Urology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Brisbane Private Hospital also delivers a leading private drug and alcohol program, Damascus Health Services, from its dedicated drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit.

Essential:

·       Extensive experience in clinical nursing and management at a senior level experience is a mandatory requirement. (4 to 6 Years minimum)

·       Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)

·       Strong commitment to customer service and quality outcomes 

·       Consultative leadership style and ability to build rapport and effectively relate with all stakeholders

·       Highly developed interpersonal skills, conflict management and negotiation skills 

·       Well-developed financial and analytical skills, ability to manage KPIs, strategic planning, and promote and positively implement a patient-focused care model 

·       Post-Graduate qualifications in Health Management would be advantageous 

·       Strong HR skills
