Our client is a well-established commercial plumbing and civil contractor with over 150 employees, delivering major infrastructure and commercial projects across NSW. Due to continued growth and investment in its civil division, they are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join the team and play a key role in securing major projects.
Based in the Windsor office, you'll be responsible for preparing competitive tenders for complex civil projects while working closely with internal stakeholders and project teams. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable business with a strong pipeline of work and genuine long-term career progression into a Lead Estimator position.
The Role
- Lead end-to-end tender preparation and submissions.
- Prepare detailed first-principles estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts and tender documentation.
- Complete quantity take-offs and develop labour, plant, material and subcontractor pricing.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the tender process.
- Develop construction methodologies and pricing strategies.
- Present estimates and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure successful handover of awarded projects to delivery teams.
About You
- 7+ years' experience as a Civil Estimator.
- Strong background estimating civil infrastructure projects, particularly roads and earthworks.
- Proven experience preparing first-principles estimates.
- Experience pricing tenders valued up to $10M-$50M+.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Strong commercial acumen and risk management capability.
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Experience with ProEst or similar estimating software is advantageous.
