The Opportunity
Take the next step in your exploration career as a Senior Field Assistant with MinRes on 6-month fixed-term contract to support our upcoming drilling programs.
Reporting to the Field Operations Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering safe, productive and efficient exploration activities. Working an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you will combine practical fieldwork with team coordination, helping our geologists, drilling crews and Field Assistants keep projects on track.
Your key responsibilities
- Assist with the supervision and coordination of Field Assistants, providing mentoring, coaching and practical guidance.
- Support RC, diamond and hydro drilling activities, including earthworks and drilling supervision.
- Undertake GPS-based surveying, boundary checks, drill collar and pad pegging.
- Support remote-area surveys and environmental and heritage activities.
- Coordinate stocktaking, ordering and purchasing controls.
- Assist with site and camp maintenance, and ensure vehicles, plant, equipment and tools are maintained.
- Support journey management, operational planning and emergency response preparations.
- Champion safe work practices through pre-starts, toolbox meetings, hazard reporting and field interactions.
What you will bring
- 12 months’ experience in Senior Field position
- Experience leading or coordinating small teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in remote locations.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to learn.
- A strong commitment to safety and supporting your team.
- A valid C Class manual driver’s licence.
Highly regarded:
- Industrial First Aid or a higher-level first aid qualification.
- Completion of a 4WD training course.
- Relevant nationally recognised tickets for telehandlers, skid-steers and loaders.
