About the Opportunity

The Customer Support Officer (Bonds & Mediation) plays a key role in supporting South Australia's small business community by managing security bond enquiries and administration under the Retail and Commercial Leases Act 1995, while also providing valuable support to mediation services within the Regulation & Advice team.

In this diverse and rewarding role, you'll be the first point of contact for bond related matters, assisting landlords, tenants and other stakeholders through what can often be complex situations. You'll manage bond lodgements and refunds, maintain accurate records and financial information, and provide timely, professional advice and customer service. You'll also support mediation processes and work closely with colleagues to help deliver fair and effective outcomes for South Australian businesses.

About the Business

The Small Business Commission SA (SBC) is an independent statutory Office of the South Australian Government within the Attorney-General's Department.

The functions of the office are to:

  • Facilitate alternative dispute resolution processes between small businesses, and between small businesses and state or local government.
  • Advocate on behalf of the small business community, or a section of it, regarding collective issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and engage with small businesses to provide information and guidance.
  • Regulate by administering and enforcing legislative powers and responsibilities assigned to the Small Business Commissioner.
  • Deliver a fair, timely and consistent services to, and on behalf of, South Australian small businesses.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
