Your new role
Reporting into the operational leadership team, you will lead a small team of Operations Controllers responsible for coordinating and monitoring emergency aviation missions across South Australia.This role combines people leadership, workforce planning, stakeholder engagement and operational oversight. Working closely with Toll Aviation's SPARAS Aviation Operations Manager, you will support the successful day-to-day delivery of the service while ensuring a positive team culture, operational compliance and workforce wellbeing.Primarily a Monday to Friday leadership position, with occasional participation in early and late operational shifts alongside your team. Full aviation and role-specific training provided.

Lead, mentor and develop a team of Operations Controllers and casual staff Manage day-to-day team performance, coaching and employee wellbeing Develop and maintain compliant workforce rosters, leave planning and fatigue management processes Partner closely with Toll Aviation and operational stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery Coordinate operational administration, reporting and workforce documentation Monitor team compliance with operational procedures and safety requirements Lead responses to operational disruptions and escalate matters as required Foster a collaborative, high-performing and inclusive team culture

What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated experience leading teams within an operational environmentPrevious experience in aviation, emergency services, logistics, transport, operations centres or similar roster-based environments will be highly regardedStrong people leadership and performance management capabilitiesExperience managing rosters, workforce planning and employee-related mattersUnderstanding of award interpretation, workforce compliance or fatigue management principles, or the ability to quickly develop these skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong computer literacy and reporting capabilitiesThe ability to remain calm, organised and solutions-focused in a dynamic environmentWillingness to work within a drug and alcohol-free workplace, including pre-employment and ongoing testing requirementsEligibility to obtain:

  • National Police Check
  • Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • WWCC
Availability to start from late August 2026 Ability to undergo initial training in Sydney
