About the Position
Royal Migration Centre is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join its Hobart, Tasmania operations. The successful candidate will analyse student, client, marketing and operational data and provide accurate, practical insights to support business planning, service improvement and informed management decision-making.
This is a genuine full-time position. Employer sponsorship under the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) visa may be considered for an eligible candidate, subject to all applicable Australian immigration and employment requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyse and interpret data from student management systems, CRM platforms and other business databases.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards covering student enquiries, applications, enrolments, conversions, client activity and business performance.
- Analyse student recruitment, marketing and customer data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities.
- Extract, clean, validate and transform data from multiple data sources.
- Develop, maintain and improve dashboards using Power BI, Tableau or similar business intelligence tools.
- Use SQL and other analytical tools to retrieve, manipulate and analyse business data.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare performance reports for management.
- Identify trends, anomalies and opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Analyse course, education provider, branch and student performance data.
- Assist management with forecasting, budgeting and business planning through data analysis.
- Maintain data accuracy, integrity, security and confidentiality.
- Prepare analytical reports, presentations and data visualisations for management and internal stakeholders.
- Work with education counsellors, migration consultants, marketing and administration teams to understand data requirements.
- Recommend improvements to data collection, reporting and business intelligence processes.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor degree or higher in Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting or a closely related analytical role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SQL.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or comparable data visualisation and business intelligence platforms.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional consultancy environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Python, R or other data analysis/programming tools.
- Experience with CRM, student management or education-sector databases.
- Experience analysing sales, marketing, customer acquisition or student recruitment data.
- Understanding of business intelligence, KPI reporting and performance analytics.
Employment Conditions
The successful applicant will be employed full-time at the Royal Migration Centre office in Hobart, Tasmania. The salary offered is $79,423 per annum plus superannuation, subject to the applicable employment and salary requirements.
