About the Role
We are seeking skilled and experienced Welders/Metal Fabricators to join our growing team in Mandurah. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for tradespeople who take pride in producing high-quality finishes on large-scale
Duties include:
- Preparation or examination of blueprints, drawings or specifications to determine work methods, sequence of activities or manufacture of components.
- Refer to planning sheet for correct size and flanges.
- Cut shells to correct length.
- Blend all stop/starts of welds, remove all splatter & ensure all sharp edges are removed.
- Tack weld flanges at correct orientation.
- Weld on part number/rotation numbers etc as per planning sheet.
- Inspection of work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects.
- Diagnosis of faults.
- Undertaking repairs or component change outs as required.
- Cleaning and maintenance of tools and work area.
- Training of other personnel or apprentices (optional).
Skills and attributes essential to the role:
- Relevant trade qualification in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field is desirable.
- Relevant work experience in welding and metal fabrication is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and planning sheets.
- Practical knowledge of welding techniques, metal cutting, grinding and component fabrication.
- Product knowledge and general technical knowledge relevant to welding and metal fabrication, supported by well-developed analytical skills.
- Good communication skills to understand instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and other personnel.
- Ability to perform a range of tasks and work independently without direct supervision.
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills to interpret planning sheets, measurements, part numbers and fabrication instructions.
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year commensurate to skills and experience.
