Dealership Accountant / Financial Controller (AC8269)

An established automotive dealership operation in Campbelltown is seeking an experienced Dealership Accountant / Financial Controller to take ownership of its financial accounting function.

This is a hands-on role suited to an automotive finance professional who enjoys managing the numbers, supporting a team and working closely with senior finance leadership.

With an established administration function already managing day-to-day dealership transactions, you'll be able to focus on financial reporting, compliance, reconciliations and the overall integrity of the accounts.

The Role

Reporting through the senior finance structure, you'll be responsible for:

• Overseeing dealership financial accounting and general ledger reconciliations.

• Preparing accurate financial reports and manufacturer reporting requirements.

• Managing tax lodgements and associated compliance responsibilities.

• Leading and supporting a small team of assistant accountants.

• Maintaining sound accounting controls and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.

• Supporting financial due diligence and other business transition activities as required.

• Contributing to improvements in accounting processes and systems.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong automotive accounting background who is comfortable taking responsibility for a dealership finance function.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Dealership Accountant, Financial Accountant or Financial Controller within the automotive industry.

• A solid understanding of dealership accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.

• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.

• An accounting degree, with CA or CPA qualifications highly regarded.

• Confidence working across different dealership management systems and the flexibility to learn new platforms.

• Strong attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Experience with financial due diligence, acquisitions or business transitions would be an advantage, but is not essential.
