Summary

Our client is seeking to add a Hairdresser to its established men's grooming business in Glenwood, Western Sydney. Operating since 2018 and drawing on approximately 18 years of industry experience, Desi Cutz Pty Ltd operates two barbershops in Glenwood and Blacktown. The business offers a range of men's grooming services, including traditional and modern haircuts, skin fades, beard trimming and personalised styling.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Consult with clients to assess their hairdressing needs, preferred styles and grooming requirements.

• Cut and shape hair using scissors, clippers, trimmers and professional barbering techniques.

• Perform traditional and contemporary men's haircuts, including skin fades, tapers and textured styles.

• Provide beard trimming, moustache shaping, razor styling and traditional hot towel shaving services.

• Shampoo, condition and prepare clients' hair and scalps before cutting or styling treatments.

• Assess hair and scalp conditions and recommend appropriate care products and treatments.

• Apply suitable hair colouring, straightening and chemical treatments according to client requirements.

• Style and finish hair using professional drying, brushing and styling techniques and products.

• Advise clients on suitable hairstyles, grooming routines and ongoing hair maintenance practices.

• Maintain consistency in haircutting, blending, fading and finishing techniques across customer appointments.

• Clean and sanitise scissors, clippers, razors and other equipment between client appointments.

• Maintain clean, organised and hygienic workstations in accordance with salon safety procedures.

• Manage customer appointments, respond to enquiries and process payments for completed services.

• Monitor grooming products, equipment and supplies and assist with maintaining adequate salon stock.

• Provide professional customer service and contribute to positive relationships with regular and new clients.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

• Must hold a minimum AQF Certificate III qualification in Hairdressing or an equivalent recognised qualification relevant to the position.

• Must have at least 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience as a Hairdresser or in a closely comparable role.

• Demonstrated ability to perform traditional and contemporary men's haircuts using professional scissors, clippers, trimmers and razors.

• Practical experience in skin fades, taper cuts, beard trimming and other contemporary men's grooming techniques is required.

• Sound knowledge of hair types, scalp care, shampooing, conditioning and appropriate hair treatment and styling products is essential.

• Ability to consult with clients, understand individual grooming preferences and recommend suitable hairstyles and maintenance routines.

• Demonstrated understanding of salon hygiene, equipment sanitisation, safe chemical handling and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Good communication, time management and customer service skills, with the ability to maintain consistent standards during busy appointments.
