About the role

At St John of God Midland Public Hospital, our midwives play a vital role in supporting women and their families throughout their maternity journey, providing compassionate, evidence-based care across antenatal, birthing and postnatal services. From antenatal clinics and maternity wards to our modern birth suites and special care nursery, our team is committed to delivering safe, personalised care that supports the wellbeing of mothers, babies and their families.

Our maternity unit includes a 24-bed ward and five modern birth suites, providing a welcoming environment for women and families. As one of the region's busiest hospitals, we offer a diverse and rewarding clinical setting with strong demand for public maternity services.

As part of our supportive and collaborative midwifery team, you'll have opportunities to develop your skills, expand your experience across the maternity continuum and explore future leadership pathways. We have permanent and casual positions available, working up to 35 hours per week, with flexible rostering options including 12-hour shifts. Applications will be considered for vacancies arising over the next six months.

To be successful, you will be a Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration and a passion for delivering safe, compassionate and evidence-based woman-centred care. You will work collaboratively with midwives, obstetricians and multidisciplinary teams to support women and families throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

We are seeking midwives who are committed to high-quality care, continuous learning and contributing to a positive team culture while making a meaningful difference to women, newborns and families in our community.
