Role Opportunity
We're partnering with a major gold producer to appoint 2 Tailings Engineers into key site-based roles at 2 of their project operations. These operations are in an expansion phase, with active studies, investigations, new dams and design work, offering strong technical exposure and growth. You'll be the Level 1 assurance presence on site - owning day-to-day tailings management while being supported by an experienced global tailings team.
Benefits
- Salary range: $155k-$170k + super + bonus + benefits
- FIFO roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, 12-hour days.

Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Geotechnical / Civil / Mining Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tailings engineering or closely related field.
- Site-based mining experience (client/owner side) - understanding of how an asset operates and the dynamic environment of a mine site.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound operational decisions daily in a production environment.
- Experience in tailings expansion projects, new dam construction, or major TSF upgrades.
- Attitude-first mindset: proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in a site-based environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across operations, processing and technical teams.
- Solid technical and analytical capability in tailings or geotechnical fields.
- Strong focus on safety, risk management and compliance.
- Ability to work autonomously on site while remaining closely connected to a wider technical team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Day-to-day operation, monitoring and surveillance of TSFs (Level 1 assurance)
- Ensure tailings deposition aligns with designs, standards and operating manuals
- Report to the Processing Manager on site, with a functional reporting line into the corporate tailings team
- Provide input into expansion projects, studies, investigations and new dam designs
- Support risk management, compliance and reporting around tailings performance
