Lead with purpose. Support your team. Make a difference.

Are you an experienced Early Childhood leader ready for your next opportunity? Journey Early Learning Werribee is seeking a passionate Centre Manager to join us on a 12-month maternity leave contract, commencing December 2026.

This is an opportunity to lead a centre, build meaningful relationships with children and families, and support a team of educators to deliver high-quality early learning experiences. If you’re ready to bring your leadership skills to a role where you can make a genuine difference, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role

As Centre Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of Journey Werribee, creating an environment where children thrive, families feel connected and educators feel supported to do their best work.

Working alongside your team and Journey’s wider Support Office, you’ll balance operational priorities with a strong focus on educational quality, compliance and team development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and developing your team of educators.
  • Building positive relationships with children, families and the local community.
  • Overseeing daily operations, staffing, occupancy and centre performance.
  • Supporting high-quality educational programs aligned with the EYLF and NQS.
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance and driving continuous quality improvement.
  • Managing budgets, resources and operational priorities.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive workplace where people feel valued and supported.
  • Partnering with Support Office to achieve centre goals and access the right support.

You’ll be part of a collaborative leadership network, with support from Journey’s Support Office and fellow Centre Managers. You’ll also have access to our Employee Assistance Program for you and your immediate family.

Growth & Development

Continue building your leadership capability through Journey Academy, professional learning and opportunities to share knowledge with other leaders across Journey.

About You

You’re a confident and approachable early childhood leader who enjoys developing people, building strong relationships and creating an environment where children and educators can thrive.

You’ll bring:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent.
  • Experience leading an early learning centre or in a senior leadership role within ECEC.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and regulatory requirements.
  • Confidence leading, mentoring and developing an education team.
  • Experience managing centre operations, occupancy, budgets and compliance.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to child safety, quality education and continuous improvement.
  • A current Blue Card or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, as required.
  • National Child Safety (Foundation Module) training, or willingness to complete it.

Our Commitment to Child Safety

At Journey Early Learning, the safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority.
