Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager
- Oversee occupational health and safety and employee wellbeing across all sites.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Lead the OHS management system and liaise with stakeholders including WorkSafe Victoria.
We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, a senior operational leader responsible for overseeing occupational health and safety, psychological health, workplace injury management, return-to-work programs and employee wellbeing across all sites and services. The role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, effective management of physical and psychosocial risks, strong consultation and safety practices, and a proactive workplace safety culture. It also leads RNH’s OHS management system, WorkCover and injury management, emergency preparedness, safety reporting and wellbeing initiatives, while providing expert advice to executives, managers and Health and Safety
Representatives and liaising with WorkSafe Victoria, the WorkSafe Agent and other stakeholders.
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in OHS, WHS, risk management, HR or related field, with at least 3 years’ senior-level experience in OHS, injury management or a similar role.
- Experience leading health, safety and wellbeing systems across complex or multi-site organisations, at both strategic and operational levels.
- Strong practical knowledge of Victorian OHS and workers compensation legislation, including the OHS Act 2004, OHS Regulations 2017, Psychological Health Regulations 2025 and WIRC Act 2013.
- Expertise in identifying, assessing and controlling psychosocial hazards, including occupational violence and aggression, particularly in healthcare.
- Experience managing WorkCover claims, early intervention, workplace adjustments and return-to-work plan, including complex cases.
- Strong capability in incident investigation, risk assessment, audits, assurance, corrective actions and regulatory reporting/engagement.
- Ability to use data, systems and performance measures to identify trends, prioritise risks and deliver measurable safety and wellbeing improvements.
