SASH Gold Coast is the first integrated specialist and 24/7 emergency hospital of its type on the Gold Coast - a brand-new, purpose-built facility conveniently located in Robina.
We provide multidisciplinary veterinary hospital services including specialist lead Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgery, Anaesthesia and Neurology & Neurosurgery services to pets and residents of the Gold Coast, NSW North Coast, and surrounds.

Our hospital wouldn't be able to do what we do without our amazing nurses, and we're now seeking ECC team members who will be essential in providing care to our patients from emergency admission through to discharge.

 
What your day-to-day looks like:

  • Assist with and/or perform advanced interventions such as placement of central, PICC and arterial lines, direct arterial pressure monitoring, urinary catheter placement, feeding tube placement, high flow nasal oxygen provision, and mechanical ventilation 
  • Participate in and lead CPR resuscitation efforts 
  • Assist with admissions and discharges from the ICU 
  • Conduct and collect various laboratory samples for internal and external analysis 
  • Assist with transfer to and reception of critical care referrals from general practice veterinarians 
  • Support the emergency department with triage and procedural responsibilities 
  • Assist with critical care anaesthesia, including TIVA, in collaboration with anaesthetists within the SASH network 


To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
 

  • Completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • A minimum of 2 years, full-time experience as a qualified nurse. 
  • Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and overnights as part of a 24/7 emergency team
  • Previous experience in Emergency, ICU or referral medicine will be highly advantageous
