Lead the Delivery of a Major Transport Infrastructure Project in Far North Queensland

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil infrastructure, road construction, and contract administration? We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of a significant transport infrastructure project in Cairns. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major road duplication project that will have a lasting impact on the region's transport network.

Your new role
As the Senior Project Manager, you will support the Delivery Engineer in managing the successful delivery of a complex civil infrastructure project. You will provide technical expertise, project management leadership, and contract administration support across various stages of the project life cycle, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the management of project resources, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
• Supporting the development and implementation of project management plans covering scope, schedule, risk, stakeholder engagement, procurement, cost, quality, and governance.
• Coordinating the delivery of multiple project components at different stages of the infrastructure life cycle.
• Administering and managing design and construction contracts.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards, legislative requirements, policies, and operational procedures.
• Engaging and coordinating internal and external technical specialists, consultants, and contractors.
• Supporting the Delivery Engineer in achieving project objectives within approved budgets and timeframes.
• Promoting a strong safety culture and inclusive workplace practices.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, particularly road and/or bridge construction projects.
• Strong project management experience across planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of road construction principles and project delivery methodologies.
• Experience administering civil construction contracts and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within strict deadlines.
• A commitment to workplace safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Desirable qualifications

• Diploma in Project Management.
• Civil Engineering Degree.
• Previous engineering studies or practical engineering experience.
• Experience leading teams within the civil infrastructure industry.
