Our client, an established Australian gold producer and developer, is seeking an experienced Core Logging Geologist to join their team on a short-term FIFO assignment from Perth. This is an opportunity to join a business with strong recent operational momentum, Australian producing assets, and ongoing growth/development exposure.
Requirements;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid RC and diamond drill rig knowledge (essential)
- Good understanding of QA/QC practices
- Experience with Datamine, Leapfrog and/or ArcGIS Pro will be highly regarded
Position Duties:
- Manage core yard activities, including core receipt, tray management, metre checks, sampling, photography and dispatch, with a focus on helping clear any existing core logging and sampling backlog
- Supervise Field Assistants
- Generate data exports as required
- Process, QA/QC and analyse geological data, including developing and interpreting geological models
- Assist with the execution of resource definition and RC drill programs
