An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Technical Lead to help deliver a major government ICT transformation program. Working within a small team, you will provide day-to-day technical leadership while remaining hands-on in software development, modernising a diverse enterprise application portfolio for a cloud-first Azure environment. You will bring strong engineering expertise and sound technical judgement, guiding developers towards consistent, maintainable and pragmatic solutions.
The successful Technical Lead will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Assessing existing applications, defining migration approaches and modernising legacy code to improve security, maintainability and Azure readiness.
- Designing, developing and maintaining full-stack Microsoft applications, APIs and backend services, while resolving complex application, integration and deployment issues.
- Providing technical direction, mentoring, pairing and constructive feedback; reviewing pull requests; and establishing consistent, secure and maintainable development practices.
- Facilitating technical discussions, resolving differences collaboratively and working with Architects to translate endorsed architecture into practical designs, simplify solutions and identify technical risks.
- Working with the Project Manager to scope and coordinate deliverables, flag dependencies and blockers, and support security remediation, technical debt reduction and automated build, test and deployment practices.
The successful Technical Lead will bring:
- Extensive .NET and ******* Core development experience, Angular and/or React expertise, and strong SQL Server development and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience developing Azure applications and working across a significant proportion of C# .NET 8+, ******* Core, Angular, Azure App Services, Functions, API Management, SQL and Service Bus.
- Experience across relevant supporting technologies, including NServiceBus, GraphQL, Azure DevOps, Git, YAML pipelines, Bicep, WS-Federation and OpenID Connect.
- Demonstrated technical delivery leadership, strong software design and modern engineering knowledge, and clear communication with a collaborative, pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Desirable: experience applying secure-by-design and zero trust principles.
