Software Engineer
- Design, develop, integrate, test and maintain software systems for engineering and manufacturing operations.
- Develop mobile applications, web platforms, backend services and databases.

Overview:
MAP Group designs, manufactures and supports specialised truck-mounted equipment for the mining, civil and industrial sectors, including water carts, service modules, tippers, flat trays, fuel and lubrication systems and associated equipment.
We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to Join the Team! The Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, test and maintain software systems supporting MAP Group’s engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, vehicle modification, customer service and after-sales operations. This is a full-time ongoing position working 38 hours per week in Mandurah, WA.
This will be a key role supporting MAP Group’s continued digitalisation of engineering calculations, manufacturing processes, quality and traceability systems, technical documentation, future automated and intelligent water-cart systems and connected-equipment solutions.
Main tasks
- Analyse business and technical requirements across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, QA and customer-service functions
- Design scalable software architecture for internal and customer-facing applications
- Develop and maintain mobile applications, web platforms, backend services and databases
- Develop REST APIs and integrate third-party systems
- Build software supporting manufacturing traceability, production tracking and digital quality records
- Develop software tools supporting engineering calculation workflows
- Develop AI and machine-learning features for technical troubleshooting, customer support and equipment identification
- Build image-recognition, QR-code and document-retrieval functionality
- Develop cloud-based systems using platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Implement authentication, role-based access control, logging, backup and secure data handling
- Maintain Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Conduct unit, integration and system testing
- Perform debugging, performance optimisation and software maintenance
- Prepare software design documentation, technical specifications and system architecture documentation
- Work closely with engineering, workshop, service and management teams to convert operational requirements into practical software solutions
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Minimum of a relevant bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years' relevant industry experience
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong commercial software-development experience
- Experience developing native mobile applications
- Experience with Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C or similar languages
- Experience with REST APIs and backend integration
- Experience with databases and cloud platforms
- Experience with Git and CI/CD
- Experience with software architecture and system design
- Experience with testing, debugging and performance optimisation
- Experience with AI, machine learning, computer vision or related technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams
Experience with TensorFlow, CoreML, OpenCV, Firebase, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, GraphQL, ********* or similar technologies would be highly regarded.
Annual salary will be between $100,000.00 to $110,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
