About the Role

A leading corporate advisory firm is seeking an Associate Director to provide strategic and financial guidance to senior leaders across some of Australia’s largest organisations. Reporting directly to the Corporate Advisory Director, you will take a central role in steering complex transactions, developing new client opportunities, and enhancing the firm’s operating model through coaching and supporting junior team members.

Core Responsibilities

As part of a close-knit advisory team, the Associate Director will contribute across the full spectrum of business development and transaction delivery. Key accountabilities include:

  • Leading and overseeing client mandates, including mergers & acquisitions, capital raising initiatives, and strategic advisory assignments.
  • Performing in-depth financial analysis, valuations, and scenario modelling to underpin client decisions.
  • Drafting and presenting polished reports, pitch materials, and board-level recommendations.
  • Partnering with senior advisors and stakeholders to shape bespoke client strategies.
  • Gathering and synthesising market intelligence and background research to support projects.
  • Assessing and challenging information received from counterparties, advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Driving origination initiatives by researching prospects, tracking market activity, preparing proposals, and joining client pitch meetings.
  • Demonstrating and promoting the firm’s values and broader purpose-led ethos.

Key Criteria

  • 6–10 years’ experience within investment banking, corporate finance, management consulting, or a related discipline.
  • Strong exposure to the full deal lifecycle, particularly in M&A transactions and defence advisory.
  • Evidence of managing complex deal processes and building trusted relationships with senior executives.
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation expertise, with the ability to run sensitivity and stress-test analysis.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Adaptability to work seamlessly across diverse industries and market segments.
  • Experience with tools such as FactSet or Bloomberg is advantageous, though not essential.
  • Commercially astute with strong operational awareness and problem-solving ability.

Remuneration:

  • Is competitive and will depend on years of experience
