Plant Operator (Truck Driver HC)
- Operate Council vehicles and machinery for road construction projects.
- Transport essential materials and equipment safely across the Barcaldine region.

Position Details
Location: This position is based in Aramac with regional work and travel as required.
Classification Level: Level 6 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2025.
Wage: Minimum base salary of $72,049.12 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of Work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.
Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

The Role
As a Plant Operator (Truck Driver HC), you will be primarily responsible for safely transporting essential materials and equipment to road construction sites across the Barcaldine region. You will operate Council vehicles and machinery in accordance with safety requirements while working collaboratively with the team to support the efficient delivery of road construction and maintenance projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HC-licensed truck driver who takes pride in safe operation, teamwork and contributing to essential regional infrastructure.

To Be Successful You Will Have:
- Completion of a National Criminal History Check to Council's Satisfaction
- Completion of a Pre-Employment Medical Examination to Council's Satisfaction
- General Safety Induction Card (White/Blue Card) or Equivalent
- Minimum QLD Class 'HC' Drivers Licence
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating plant of a 'HC' licence class level
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Highly regarded, but not required
- Traffic Controller Licence (desirable)
- Traffic Management Implementation Qualification (desirable)
