About the Opportunity
Join our Finance team in a varied Assistant Accountant & Payroll Associate role, combining broad accounting responsibilities with ownership of fortnightly payroll.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support journals, reconciliations, accounts receivable, month-end activities and financial reporting, while managing fortnightly payroll, interpreting Modern Awards and responding to payroll enquiries.

Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll contribute to finance projects, identify bottlenecks and look for opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies across the function.

This is a part-time position working 22.8 hours across three days, with Tuesday as a set day. Two days will be office-based, with flexibility around how the remaining hours are structured.

Duties

  • Prepare and post accounting journals
  • Process invoices through MYOB
  • Complete reconciliations and month-end activities
  • Support general ledger and financial reporting
  • Manage accounts receivable activities
  • Process fortnightly payroll
  • Interpret Modern Awards
  • Resolve payroll enquiries
  • Support finance projects and improvements

Skills & Experience

  • Formal Accounting/Commerce qualification
  • Practical accounting experience essential
  • Hands-on payroll experience essential
  • Modern Awards knowledge
  • MYOB/accounting systems experience
  • Strong Excel capability
  • Astute or ADP advantageous
  • SAP Ariba exposure advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
