We’re representing a Tier-1 infrastructure delivery partner delivering complex energy and civil programs across Australia. As part of a major pipeline and gathering expansion in the Surat Basin, they’re seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join the project team and drive excellence in assurance, compliance and delivery standards.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role embedded within the site delivery team. You will be responsible for ensuring all construction and fabrication works meet design, code and client specifications — providing technical QA/QC leadership from mobilisation through to commissioning.
You’ll work closely with engineers, superintendents, subcontractors and the client to maintain compliance, resolve non-conformances and continuously improve processes across a large-scale, safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee site quality control processes and inspection programs for pipelines, mechanical and civil works.
Conduct internal audits, inspections and surveillance in line with ISO 9001 and project ITPs.
Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), root-cause analysis and close-out actions.
Review weld maps, pressure test packs and material traceability documentation.
Liaise with construction teams to verify compliance with technical drawings and specifications.
Support commissioning readiness through QA documentation, check sheets and turnover packages.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce rework and enhance delivery assurance.
About You
Degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or similar).
5 + years’ experience in quality engineering or QA/QC roles within energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 systems, auditing and inspection requirements.
Familiarity with pipeline construction, welding processes, and material traceability.
Excellent attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work FIFO (14:7) from Brisbane or Toowoomba.
