Poitrel is an open cut metallurgical coal mine near Moranbah in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. We are looking for experienced Excavator Operators to join our Production team.
You will:
- Safely operate excavators to strip overburden and load coal and waste into haul trucks
- Complete pre-start checks and report defects promptly
- Work to the mine plan, dig and bench standards, and ground conditions as directed by supervisors and the dispatch system
- Work closely with truck operators, dozer operators, drill and blast crews and supervisors to keep production flowing safely
- Identify and report hazards, near misses and ground control concerns, and stop work when something is not right
- Take care of your machine and your work area
About you
- Proven experience operating excavators in an open cut mine with relevant tickets
- Standard 11 (Coal Mining Induction) and a current Coal Board Medical, or willingness to obtain them before starting
- Current driver’s licence
- Right to work in Australia
- Commitment to safety and the ability to follow procedures and speak up
- Reliability and a good team attitude
