Position: Aged or Disabled Carer
Location: Adelaide, SA
Employment: Full-time (minimum 38 hours per week), ongoing
Annual Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation [commensurate with experience]
Responsibilities:
- Going with elderly people and people with disabilities to help them during their everyday activities, such as appointments, outings, or errands
- Helping clients move around safely, including walking, getting in and out of chairs, beds, or vehicles
- Cooking and preparing meals for clients based on their needs and preferences
- Organising and helping with social or recreational activities to keep clients active and engaged
- Doing light housework around the home, such as vacuuming floors, dusting, and general cleaning
- Helping clients with personal care tasks like bathing, showering, and getting dressed
- Spending time with clients, offering friendly company, conversation, and emotional support
- Sometimes doing grocery shopping or running small errands on behalf of the client
- Sometimes living in the client's home to provide more regular, ongoing support
To be successful in this role, you require the following:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification as per AQF (mandatory)
- Previous experience of more than 1 year in disability or aged care support preferably in a community or home-based setting. (mandatory)
- Immediate joining preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
- Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Reliability and punctuality· A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable).
- Must be able to lawfully work in Australia or obtain appropriate work rights before commencing employment (Aus PR/ Citizens preferred)
- South Australian candidates preferred
