- Drive eCommerce business strategy across the Australian market
We are partnering with a leading organisation to identify an experienced eCommerce Trading Manager.
About the Role:
Based in Melbourne, this role will drive the eCommerce business strategy across the Australian market, with responsibility for merchandise selection, financial forecasting and inventory management to optimise overall business performance.
We're looking for someone who understands customers, sales, inventory and P&L, and can turn these insights into stronger online trading performance. This is a commercial eCommerce role focused on merchandising and trading, rather than website optimisation or checkout experience, so you don't need to come from a purely digital background.
As a leadership opportunity, you'll also manage and develop a team of 3.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute eCommerce strategies across merchandise planning, inventory management, sales forecasting, and product flow to drive growth in the Australian market.
- Analyse sales trends, customer demand, and inventory performance to optimise assortment, stock levels, and profitability.
- Manage website and app operations, enhancing customer journey, content strategy, SEO, and digital sales performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Supply Chain, IT, and Customer Service to deliver eCommerce initiatives and improve operations.
- Drive online-to-online growth, campaign execution, system enhancements, and continuous improvement across eCommerce platforms.
- Lead and develop eCommerce merchandising, inventory, and site operations teams to achieve business objectives.
You'll be looking at questions like:
- What products are coming in, and do we have the right inventory available?
- What's selling, what's not, and why?
- How are sales and financial forecasts tracking?
- Which products should be prioritised on the website?
- How can we improve online trading performance?
- How can we work with Digital Marketing to get the right products in front of customers?
About You:
- 5+ years of experience in eCommerce
- Proven experience leading and managing a small team.
- Exposure to global teams or international markets is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of commercial trading, digital marketing, eCommerce merchandising and inventory management is essential, along with proven leadership experience.
If you have a retail background, experience across all facets of eCommerce, strong leadership capability and proven examples of creating meaningful customer impact, we would love to hear from you.
