Your New CompanyJoin a large public sector organisation responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of a significant road network across South East Queensland. Working within a specialist traffic engineering team, you will contribute to projects and initiatives that improve road safety, network efficiency and community outcomes.
Your New RoleAs a Traffic Engineer, you will provide technical support and engineering expertise across traffic operations, road safety and network improvement projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineering staff, you will assist in the delivery of programmes and initiatives aimed at improving network capacity, reducing congestion and enhancing road safety outcomes.Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating, analysing and reviewing traffic and road safety issues across the road network.
- Supporting the delivery of road safety improvement programmes and minor works projects.
- Contributing to road safety project proposals and funding submissions.
- Providing specialist advice relating to traffic engineering, safety investigations, signage and line marking.
- Preparing technical reports and responding to stakeholder and community enquiries.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A four-year Bachelor of Engineering qualification accredited under the Washington Accord, or an equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in traffic engineering, road safety or transport infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A current White Card.
- The ability to obtain and maintain the required criminal history screening.
