We are partnering with a NSW Government organisation to engage an experienced Category Manager – Procurement to support a large-scale ERP transformation program.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategy, driving value-for-money outcomes, and working across high-value, complex categories in a dynamic public sector environment.
The Role As a Category Manager, you will lead the strategic planning, sourcing, and management of procurement categories, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and NSW Government procurement frameworks.
You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver commercially sound, compliant, and sustainable procurement outcomes while contributing to a significant transformation program.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category management strategies to optimise value
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities across high-value procurement categories
- Provide commercial and strategic advice to senior stakeholders
- Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contract delivery
- Lead complex negotiations and procurement processes
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks
- Ensure compliance, governance, and audit readiness across all activities
About You
- Strong experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing
- Proven track record managing complex and high-value procurement activities
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Experience within NSW Government or public sector (highly desirable)
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred)

Hours: 40 hours per week
Eligibility
- Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or NZ Citizen
- Ability to obtain/hold Baseline Clearance
- Willing to complete National Police Check & reference checks
