This highly regarded specialist property law firm advises major Australian businesses, institutional property owners and listed organisations across sophisticated real estate matters nationally.
With approximately 30 people in the Sydney office, the firm offers top-tier quality property work within a smaller, collaborative environment. The team has strong staff tenure and a track record of developing and progressing lawyers internally.
The role & team
An opportunity is available for an Associate to join the firm's established property practice, working closely with experienced senior lawyers and Partners.
Approximately 60-70% of the role will focus on commercial and retail leasing, predominantly representing landlords, alongside tenant-side work. You will also gain exposure to a broader range of commercial property matters.
The team regularly handles substantial transactions, with matters typically starting around $5m-$10m and frequently exceeding $40m. Lawyers work across the team, providing exposure to different Partners and hands-on involvement in matters.
The broader practice includes:
- Commercial and retail leasing
- Property acquisitions and disposals
- High-value commercial property transactions
- Property advisory work
- Some property-related disputes
Experience required
- Admission to practice law in NSW with 3+ years PQE in property law
- Strong commercial and/or retail leasing experience
- Landlord or tenant-side experience considered
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Natural drive and eagerness to learn and grow with the team long term
