Role Description/Criteria
St James the Apostle is an integral part of the faith community of Hoppers Crossing and is one of 4 parish Primary Schools. St James is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS) ABN ***********. MACS is the employer of employees at St James.
We are seeking a Home Group Teacher who:
- demonstrates a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and to the safety and wellbeing of all students
- has a passion for teaching and an understanding of learning in a contemporary environment is essential - Science of Learning
- has knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.
- is able to plan and deliver learning experiences that are differentiated to accommodate a range of abilities and learning styles
- is able to effectively use data to inform the teaching and learning of students
- is innovative and highly motivated
- is able to assess and report for all learners using school systems
- is able to prepare a year and term overviews for all home groups
- is able to maintain ongoing professional documentation of learning, teaching and assessment on Google Drive
- contributes to future planning and policy.
Special Requirements
St James promotes the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children; therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.
- Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
- The successful applicant will hold the Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
- Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is preferred.
