Machine Operator - Day Shift & Forklift Operator - Afternoon Shift

⏰ Employment Type: Casual Ongoing | Up to 38 Hours Per Week
Programmed Skilled Workforce is currently seeking reliable and motivated candidates to join our client, BlueScope Steel, in Hume. We have two opportunities available for people looking to work with a leading Australian steel manufacturer in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
1. Day Shift Machine Operator
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am - 2:30pm
The day shift role will primarily involve machine operation, with forklift operation and other general duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating machinery safely and efficiently
- Supporting daily production and steel processing operations
- Operating forklifts when required
- Assisting with loading, unloading and moving materials
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures
About You
- Previous machine operation, manufacturing or labouring experience is preferred
- Current and valid LF forklift licence is essential
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around machinery
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Reliable, punctual and committed to working as part of a team
2. Afternoon Shift Forklift Operator
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
- Friday: 1:00pm - 9:00pm
The afternoon shift role will primarily involve forklift operation, moving and handling steel products, and supporting warehouse and loading operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating forklifts to move and handle steel products safely
- Loading and unloading materials
- Moving stock around the warehouse and production areas
- Preparing products and materials for dispatch
- Performing general warehouse duties and housekeeping
- Adhering to strict safety standards and procedures
About You
- Current and valid LF forklift licence is essential
- Previous forklift, warehouse or manufacturing experience is preferred
- Confidence operating a forklift in a busy industrial environment
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Reliable, punctual and able to commit to the required shift hours
