An outstanding opportunity has presented itself for a Train Crew Development Specialist, with a current Cert IV in Train Driving and a Cert IV in Training & Assessment to lead train crew development, based at our Coppabella depot.
What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Superintendent, you will deliver hands-on and classroom training, assess competency, and work closely with supervisors to ensure safe, high-performing operations.
- Plan, prioritise and deliver compliant technical driver training
- Train, assess and mentor train crew to meet Rail Safety Worker competency requirements
- Develop and manage individual training plans aligned to operational needs
- Ensure competencies, assessments, currency and records are completed on time
- Work closely with Operational Leaders and Training Specialists to ensure consistent outcomes
- Promote a strong safety culture and knowledge-sharing environment
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience as a Mainline or Mentor Driver (currently accredited)
- Strong track record of safe locomotive operations
- Current Cert IV in Train Driving (please upload during application process)
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
- Ability to coach, assess and mentor others effectively
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office and training/compliance systems)
- Clear and confident communication skills at all levels
