Join Royal Freemasons as a Maintenance Officer and play an important role in supporting the comfort, safety and wellbeing of our residents. Based at one of our Residential Aged Care homes in Melbourne's western suburbs, you'll enjoy a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

From carrying out maintenance and repairs to coordinating contractors and supporting compliance activities, you'll help ensure our facilities, grounds and equipment are maintained to the highest standard. This is an opportunity to use your practical skills while making a genuine difference in the lives of older Australians.

This is a part-time position working four days per week (8:00am to 4:00pm), ideally Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Your Responsibilities: 

• Perform routine and reactive maintenance, including minor repairs, patching, painting, plumbing, lighting, and door hardware.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, issuing work orders where specialist services are required.
• Monitor, maintain, and report on plant, equipment, and facility assets to ensure safety and compliance.
• Manage maintenance schedules, asset records, CMMS (FMi) tasks, and maintenance documentation.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and assist with room and common area refurbishments.
• Support furniture and equipment relocations using safe manual handling practices.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including litter removal and pressure cleaning as required.
• Manage maintenance stock levels and order materials within budget guidelines.
• Assist with emergency response procedures and incident reporting.
• Ensure work areas are safe, clean, and tidy while minimising disruption to residents and staff.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and other reasonable duties as required.

What You'll Bring:

• Trade qualification and/or extensive maintenance experience
• Practical experience across general repairs and facilities maintenance
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Experience coordinating contractors and service providers
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
• Sound computer skills
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence
